From the Long Lost

Hello everyone!!
It's me! I'm back. :) I'm doing just fine, only life's business has picked up a bit (didn't expect that was possible!).
The great news is... I'm in my new house!!! The farmhouse is now where I call home. :) I do miss my family very much sometimes; even though we see each other often, it's just not the same as living with them and waking up every day to their noises. :) But I love living here with Alyssa, and things are going really well so far!
The pictures... well, I haven't found a way to load them on to my laptop yet. I can't believe it, I think this is the worst "late" I've ever been! They will come, though, someday. ;)
I'm very pleased over the snow today. It means that I wasn't comfortable driving to town, and so stayed home from work! So now I have an entire day to clean house, hang pictures, finish unpacking (yes, there are still boxes on my floor), maybe do some baking, catch up on bookwork, and study for a test. And hopefully, the sweetest of all... take a nap! I haven't done that since I was in high school, believe it or not. And today that will make it to the "to do" list. :)
I had a verse or two that have really been tugging on my heart lately. Hope you can get something from it too. :) The Word of God is living and active...
"Then He said to them all: 'If anyone would come after Me, he must deny himself and take up his cross daily and follow Me. For whoever wants to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for Me will save it. What good is it for a man to gain the whole world, and yet forfeit his very self?'" (Luke 9:23-25)
Our "self" is found when we abide in Christ and live for His purpose!
Love to you all in Him,
ashley
